By Leanne Hoagland-Smith Many small business owners, remember small is defined as companies with under 500 employees, fail to market themselves and consequently continue to lose market share. The inability to increase sales revenue goes beyond the expertise of your sales staff and is directly tied into your marketing plan. First, do you have a marketing plan to deliver your marketing message? How are you marketing yourself and your business? Even if you are a Single Office Home Office Business (SOHO) or home based business, you need a marketing plan. Obviously if you are a larger organization, you understand the value of having such a plan. HINT: If you dont have a plan or have been procrastinating about writing a plan, STOP right now. Find; hire someone to help you write that plan. These plans should be directly tied to your strategic plan of Who Does What By When within your business plan. Read about where to begin at www.processspecialist.com/articles/DoYouKnowandPlanforthe3RsforBusiness.pdf Second, does your marketing message interrupt your prospect or suspect? What makes your message stop your prospects behaviors to want to further listen to what you have to say? Look to those now infamous Super Bowl commercials or even the ever-changing ones on television. Why does one commercial literally STOP YOU? Is it the graphics? Is it the music? Is it the content within the message? HINT: Use some measurable term such as double your results, triple your business, increase profits by 100% to interrupt your prospect. Third, does your marketing message engage your prospect or suspect? OK, now that you have your prospects attention, how do you keep it? This engagement may be just for a few moments as in those 30-second sound bites we hear every day. Engaging your prospect is critical to the success of your marketing strategies. HINT: At this point, you should be providing some benefits that create the Whats In It For Me? Fourth, does your marketing message educate your intended audience? Can you provide some solid education in your message? Citing proven, documented data or statistics helps to solidify your message. For example, within our business services, we provide a student leadership development and interpersonal skills program (Americas Rising Stars). We let parents know that: According to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), the average national timeframe to earn a 4 year degree is 5.3 years. Many universities report that it will take 6 years to earn a 4 year degree. If you are a parent with a college bound student, would this not be a valuable piece of education? Imagine how much more money the parents are envisioning that they will be spending and if they have more than one college bound student, the numbers are incredibly high and very, very expensive. HINT: Connect the education to the needs of your prospect. Fifth and final question, does your marketing message provide an immediate offer? How many times do you hear? If you call right now, we will reduce the price by $50? or Call right now and you will receive 2 for the price of one. The offer is clearly stated. Why, because the seller, that being you, wants the buyer, that being your prospect, to take action right now, not later, but right now. HINT: Be creative with your message by offering a substantial discount if one buyer secures 10 other buyers. Remember, you absolutely need a marketing plan where your marketing message interrupts, engages, educates and offers. If your current message is not delivering these 4 objectives, then take some time to rework your plan. You will be simply amazed by how quickly your results double. Save Money On Your Grocery Bill
By Shannon Smith We've all heard about certain ways to cut your grocery bill like avoiding the grocery store when you're hungry, using coupons on double coupons day, and buying only the items on your list. These are all good tips and we should keep using them. However, I've found a few pointers that might help you save even more on your grocery bill. The first thing you need to do after you've made your grocery list is to try to figure the total cost of your grocery bill. Make sure you've got everything on the list that you'll need because after you've made an educated guess you're going to go to your purse (or wallet), take out the cash and leave the rest behind. Believe me, this will definitely cut back on the unnecessary extras because you won't have the credit cards to fall back on. And if you're like me, you'd rather be hung upside down by your toe nails than be found short at the check out. Don't be afraid to look on the day-old bread rack or in the "about to expire" section of the meat department. You have to be careful, but you'll probably be able to tell whether the item is good. Just make sure to use it right away, don't let it sit in your refrigerator for a week. Who knows, it just might "meat" your expectations and save you money in the process! Another thing to think about is the time of day, time of week and even time of month that you are shopping. I've found that early in the morning and in the middle of the week is when the grocery stores are less busy and you'll be able to get more efficient shopping done. Be careful not to go on the first day or two of the month. Some stores have been known to raise prices because that is the time that social security and welfare checks go out. Buy in bulk when it makes sense. If you're shopping at Costco or Sam's Club you still need to comparison shop. I've found that some of the items are just as inexpensive at our local grocery store and there have been times when Costco's or Sam's Club prices where higher. So most of the time it makes sense for me to get most of our groceries at my local store because we live two hours away from Sam's Club Look high and low for savings, literally. The grocery stores purposely place the higher-priced name brand items at eye level. The lower priced generic and store brands are usually higher and lower than the brand name items. Remember that the generic brand or store brand isn't always the less expensive. Some stores I've been to list the cost per ounce, or per item (trash bags) so be sure to compare these prices when shopping. Last but not least, if you've got kids at home try to find another mom to trade shopping times with. It's a lot easier to shop without kids, you won't be tempted to buy extras just to keep them quiet and you'll have more time to comparison shop. Your chances of having an enjoyable shopping experience will go up as well as their chances for survival! Shannon is webmaster to a site that offers premade scrapbook pages. How to Do a Local Job Search
By Jay Moncliff Many people are out there looking for a job. A local job search can often be difficult. But did you know you can do a local job search right from your own home? You can even do a local job search without even having to get up from your chair. How do you do a local job search? What's the best way to do a local job search? Let's go over some of the methods. The first way people usually do a local job search is from a newspaper. This is not always the best way to do a local job search, but it is commonly used. The first way to do this local job search is to get your local newspaper. You can either have it delivered to your home or purchase it a grocery store or gas station. You then open your newspaper to the classified section and start your local job search. The jobs are sectioned off by their designated fields such as: legal, medical, labor, drivers, sales, etc. Before you start this local job search, you may want to have a resume already made. The most popular form of a local job search is to go online and do a local job search. There are several websites that offer a local job search. I find the easiest website to use for a local job search to be careerbuilders.com. At this website you begin your local job search by first creating a resume. You can either copy and paste a resume you have already created or you can use the websites free resume builder. You can save up to 5. Next you begin the local job search. First select your city and state. You then select how far away you are willing to work from your zip code. Next you select the categories of job interest and click "enter." Soon you will have tons of jobs listed from your local job search. You can then select jobs you are interested in and automatically send them your resume. It is the easiest way to do a local job search. Careerbuilder.com even emails you daily with jobs that match the local job search you did on the website. The last local job search website you may be interested in is monster.com. This website is probably the most popular, but not as user friendly. It is very similar to careerbuilder.com except that they do not send out email alerts for jobs you may be interested in. Finding a great job is very important. Finding the best job is not always easy. Use the information you have just been given wisely. With it you should have no trouble finding the perfect job. Outdoor Gazebo - Make Your Dream a Reality
By Arturo Ronzon Have you always dreamed of having an outdoor gazebo? I know I have. I look longingly at gazebos I see in other peoples yards and slow down to look at the ones on display I see when I pass a home or garden center. There are so many styles and types of gazebos. I would be hard pressed to actually choose one of the many styles that are available. There are simple gazebos that are just a fancy cover and there are more complex and ornate outdoor gazebos. The more elaborate outdoor gazebo has railings, stairs, and a real roof. I would like having built in seating in my gazebo. I would like planting boxes, flowing with seasonal flowers and ivy. You can choose a gazebo that is made of wood or made of metal. It is all up to you and your tastes. It is nice to have a dream that can easily become a reality. There are many ways for you to obtain an outdoor gazebo. You can go to any home improvement store or lawn and garden store, and see them on display. You can buy one fully assembled and staff from the store will come and install it for you on your property. You can opt to work from a kit if you are good with your hands. The kit will come with everything you need to make your gazebo and has detailed instructions on how to put it together. If you are a really talented and skilled wood worker, you can find a plan that suits you best, and start from scratch and make your own outdoor gazebo. Think of the pride you will feel when you are sitting in your gazebo you made with your own hands. Entertaining will be taken to a whole, new level with an outdoor gazebo. Imagine sitting outside on a warm evening, sipping cool drinks and watching the stars while you sit in your gazebo with friends and family. You can serve appetizers and wine and feel like royalty as you sit outside under your beautiful, new outdoor gazebo. New Car Loans
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Eddie_Tobey]Eddie Tobey Once you find your dream car, you will have to figure out how you can afford it. There are many financing options available, of which the new car loan is the most feasible. When applying for a new car loan, the first thing to consider is your financial situation. Determine how much you can afford to pay each month, as car financing is a long-term proposition. Most of the new car loans run for five years, so you should be able to meet this financial obligation for five years. Before actually settling on a new car loan, it is advisable to shop around and compare prices of the various loan companies. The dealers rate is not always the best rate. Get quotes from finance companies and banks, and then choose the company offering the best rate and terms for your new car loan. The dealer may add unnecessary things to your loan amount, like tow packages and undercoating. You should decline all this, as it just adds to the price of the car, and serves no other significant purpose. When getting a new car loan, it is better to pay as much of a down payment as possible, as this lowers the amount to be financed. This in turn lowers your monthly payments. There are some advantages to new car loans, like lemon law coverage, factory support, and full warranties. There is also a possibility of receiving lower financing rates with new car loans. However, as new cars cost more, there is limited room for price negotiation, which leads to a larger loan amount. Taking out new car loans also makes you take the hit for depreciation. Creative Baby Gifts
By Damian Sofsian Creative baby gifts are given not only to display the creativity of the giver but also to provide a venue which can enhance the baby's or even their parents' creativity. These gifts are well-thought of considering what would fit the baby and the families which they are born into. There are several options available which amount to creative baby gifts. These gifts may either be store-bought or personally made by the givers themselves. A popular creative baby gift that has been a prevalent choice is baby books, which come in a variety of styles, sizes and even themes. Since its introduction more than a hundred years ago, baby books have proven their worth in being one of the more creative baby gifts available. Baby books include pages that parents and caregivers can fill out to commemorate memorable events in the baby's life, including information about the baby and his/her family, firsts, momentous events that happened during his/her birth, the trends during his birth year, and a lot more. Most of these baby books also depict whimsical illustrations sure to delight the parents and the babies as well. Popular anecdotes, poems, sayings and even stories about babies and growing up may also be seen on baby book pages. Although there are ready made baby books available, some gift givers may opt to create their own baby books to be given as baby gifts. Some may also prefer to give a nicely bounded blank notebook which parents may use as the baby's journal to enhance the parents' creativity all the more. Creative baby gifts also include personalized gift baskets that can include toiletries especially made for babies, baby bottles, clothing articles, blankets, toys, and a lot more and are only limited by the giver's creativity. There are retailers who can customize baby baskets depending on their clients' wants while others opt to make and fill their own baby baskets. Baby Gifts provides detailed information on Baby Gifts, Baby Gift Baskets, Baby Shower Gifts, Personalized Baby Gifts and more. Baby Gifts is affiliated with Baby Boy Gift Baskets. What Is Constitutional Law?
By Marcelade Vivo This is a big question, because just the scope of this term is absolutely huge. Constitutional law essentially encompasses all the foundational laws that our country is based upon. The creation and execution of laws by the government and the scope of power and authority given to the government is regulated by constitutional law. Just as it sounds, it is based off of the tenets of a constitution and all the elements within the constitution that outline the power of the government, state and people. For the purposes of this article, we will be discussing constitutional law in the United States and go through a brief outline of what it is and why it exists. The United States constitutional law is the body that governs the implementation and interpretation of the US constitution. It sets forth of the terms of the Constitution and directly describes the range and use of these terms. It covers areas of law like relationships between states and the federal governments, the rights of individuals and citizens of the US and all other areas concerned with constitutional law. Because the US constitution lays out so many rules and contains archaic language, many people argue that it is open to interpretation and not meant to be taken literally. For example, in the United Stated courts, judges are often divided by how much they stick to the constitution and how much they interpret it in different ways. Some say a literal translation of the constitution is best, others say that the terms are far too vague to be used specifically and that the constitution should be treated more as a guideline than anything else. All other forms of law necessarily fall under the auspices of constitutional law. Because it is so huge, there are many details to go into; enough books have been written about this type of law to render anything but a summary unnecessary. Suffice to say, constitutional law is the law that supersedes all others and one that literally determined the founding of the nation of the United States of America. MyAbogado.com is a popular legal directory that helps users locate legal professionals across the country while providing the legal community and litigation support providers with a low cost method to market their services to other professionals and members of the public across the country. Increasing Occupancy At Your Self Storage Facility Through Effective Marketing
By Derek Naylor There are only 3 ways to grow any business including your self-storage business. 1. Acquire New Customers (Increase Occupancy)
2. Increase The Value Of Each Customer
3. Lower Operating Expenses/Increase Margins If you think about it for a few minutes, youll quickly realize that everything youve done to increase profits has fallen under one of those 3 categories. If you find yourself engaged in a discussion about ideas that dont fall into these areas, youre in a danger zone and need to back up and make sure you start with this foundation prior to continuing. Ive seen millions of dollars wasted on ideas that fall outside of these 3 areas and I would be doing you a disservice by not cautioning you on the danger of even exploring the ideas if they dont fit snuggly into these categories. So, let's get started with point number one: Acquiring New Customers Although there are other ways to increase the profitability of your storage facility, increasing occupancy is the most obvious and talked about method. However, since there are so many ways to acquire a new customer, there is a lot of confusion and therefore a lot of money wasted in this business on bad marketing and sales tactics. Before we get into the tactics of actually acquiring new customers, we need to take a holistic view of what is actually happening in your marketplace when a prospective customer needs storage and begins the hunt for a facility to store their belongings. In order to create powerful marketing strategies we need to first see the world through your prospects eyes, in an effort to understand their motive in deciding to use storage in the first place. Then to understand their motive in choosing whatever facility they do. Youve likely heard the maxim: If you want to know why John Smith buys what John Smith buys youve got to see the world through John Smiths eyes. As a marketer, that is one of the most valuable, underused maxims of all time. See, marketing has many definitions. But ultimately it all boils down to MOTIVATING somebody to use your product/service to satisfy their need or want. But, in order to motivate, we must understand motive. We uncover motive by now this is real rocket science here so brace yourself asking your customers and prospects what their motive is! Imagine that! Now, this must be done correctly since we know that a persons first, surface level answer is usually not the complete and real answer but it really boils down to asking them why Why, after all of these years of a cluttered closet or garage, did you finally decide to use self storage? Why, Businessman, did you finally decide to use self-storage to expand your distribution reach? Why, of all the choices in town, did you choose us? Why, why why? After asking the right questions, the right way, enough times, youre able to start drawing some good conclusions. But were not finished After we know what their motive is, we still need more invaluable information from these ever important people. After all, my opinion, your opinion and your marketing departments opinion doesnt matter one bit! Know why? Because were not the one paying the money for the space. Were not the one that pays the billsyour customer is! Getting in their head is absolutely critical and one of the most valuable things you could spend your time doing. But uncovering their motive only tells us what motivated them to use self-storage and maybe why they chose you over the competition; were out to win a lions share of the market -arent we? So, we need to learn their frustrations, ultimate desires and non-motivators so we can learn what INNOVATIONS to implement to motivate them to choose us, over our competition. In short, we need to find out what their buying motive is and how to get them to give us their money instead of giving it to your competition. That knowledge is most important! The process we just described is a part of Storage Marketing Solutions Discovery Process. To date, weve done thousands of surveys across the country and already have great insight into your customers and prospective customers minds. But, since each competitive environment is slightly different, we always conduct new surveys for new clients to ensure the data is similar to maximize the return on their marketing investment. In addition to uncovering buying motives, we do competitive analysis by shopping your competitors and conducting in depth staff surveys to gather further perspective. After this is complete we now can create the right strategy and begin developing the message and tactics that we will deploy this powerful message with. Before pro sports teams prepare for their next game, what do they spend time doing? Thats right, reviewing game film of their toughest opponent actually playing. They do this so they can watch the play patterns, defense style and coaching moves of their competition. This helps them prepare and practice for their specific opponent. The same holds true for a court case. Before a case ever goes before the judge or jury, both attorneys do as much as they can during a discovery phase to create their case/game strategy. Why should marketing strategy be any different? It shouldnt! Most marketers dont think twice about strategy. Rather, theyre artists. They create stuff that looks good and might get a laugh out of somebody without ever considering a solid strategy They do this without ever considering what to say, how to say it and who to say it to in order to motivate the prospect to pick up the phone, call you and choose you to store their belongings. After innovations have been made to make you the obvious choice to store their belongings with, its time to talk about delivering this powerful message weve just created. This is done through advertising mediums. This includes Television, Radio, Direct Mail, Yellow Pages, Billboards, etc. Rather than go into each medium, Ill get straight to the point on this For most facilities, spending advertising dollars on anything but Yellow Pages, Internet and Direct Mail is a giant waste of your money. Convenience and location are by far the biggest decision factors in the self-storage business. People want their belongings close and within easy access! This is why most of your customers live so close to the site they store at. So, advertising to somebody 20 miles away by using mediums like radio, TV and sometimes even Yellow Pages is absolutely pointless. Why would you make somebody an offer who wont accept it even if they wanted to? Rather you should focus on the closest 30,000-60,000 households to each of your facilities. They are close, you are convenient and you can inexpensively deliver them a message that motivates them to use you. To fully occupy each facility, you probably only need 1%-5% of that universe to become a customer. All of your marketing tactics should focus on those who live and/or work by your facility. Period! Now, before you say something along the line of: Direct mail doesnt work or, I trash every piece of direct mail that comes my way, consider this: according to the Direct Marketing Association, Direct Mail is still the most efficient and effective way to advertise. If youve tried direct mail in the past, and it didnt work, dont challenge direct mail. What you need to do is challenge the way you did the direct mail. Almost every client we have has moved very cautiously towards making a small test investment in direct mail only to be proved wrong. Remember, most people WILL trash your piecethats fine. All we typically need is a measly 1%-5% to respond and were in the money I hope you've found this article helpful, insightful or at the bare minimum, a reinforcement of your existing beliefs. Care of Dendrobium Orchids
By Robert Roy Dendrobiums This month I am focusing our attention to the care of Dendrobiums. These are one of the most popular of retail orchid plants. They are a true epiphyte or air plant. There pseudopods can gather and hold water very efficiently. Generally there will be a hybrid phalaenopsis and dendrobium, commonly known as Dtps. Potting This needs only to be done every two to three years and it should be with a porous, free draining media. This may be a combination of wood chips, small stone and and pieces of styrofoam peanuts. This will allow the draining of water and fertilizer. Dendrobiums seem to grow best when the pot is smaller than the size of the orchid plant. Lighting The dendrobium orchids require about 50% sun or bright light. They will do well in an east or west window as well as a shaded south window. They also do well under 4 - 40 watt fluorescent lights directly over the plant. Temperature These plants need a difference in temperature between the night and day. Preferably this difference should be about 10 - 15 degrees. The night temps they like is 60-65 with days between 80 - 90. Air circulation is needed and is especially when the temps are above 90 degrees. Water Like most orchids Dendrobiums need to be kept moist while actively growing. When it is mature, as are most of orchids-plus-more.com plants they should dry between watering. Dendrobiums thrive when the humidity is about 50 - 60%. Humidity trays are usually needed while the plant is in the home. Fertilizer Use a balance fertilizer like Jack's Classic 20-20-20. Use weakly, weekly. That is, use a solution which is between 1/4 to 1/2 the recommended dosage. Visit our Orchid Store: http://www.orchid-store.orchids-plus-more.com Comments or questions: http://www.orchids-plus-more.com/orchid-contact.html This site is devoted to these wonderful orchid plants. Did you know they are the second in popularity only to the poinsietta plants? You will find a good deal of information on how easy orchid care really is. They are wonderful to have around your home or for that special gift. Orchid flowers are beautiful and can last for months. Your plant will be appreciated for years and years. http://www.orchids-plus-more.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Robert_Roy http://EzineArticles.com/?Care-of-Dendrobium-Orchids&id=17510 buy xanax without prescription

Spiritual Healing or Spiritual Malpractice?
By Jim Lynn Christians with chronic illness need to know there is a source for healing beyond secular medicine that does not follow the pattern or knowledge of this world. That source is spiritual and comes from God! But there is a problem. Millions of Christians are being robbed the gift of spiritual healing through spiritual malpractice. Numerous Christian traditions (doctrines) hold that the time of miraculous healing, spiritual healing, or by whatever name it is known by, is over. These traditions claim the time of divine healing, anointing with oil and laying on of hands ended when the last Apostle died. With this kind of teaching, no wonder there is so much confusion, sickness and suffering. Those who make the claim that God no longer intervenes in this world through spiritual healing need to ask themselves one question. From who did this claim originate, God or Satan? If from God, then His will be done. But what if this teaching is not from God? Suppose it is from Satan whispering in the ear of man that God has ended spiritual healing. What then? What is the consequence of believing and teaching such a doctrine? Such a doctrine and Church leaders who proclaim it would be responsible for denying millions of chronically ill Christians the gift of spiritual healing. For elders, pastors and Church clergy are all charged with the spiritual oversight of their flocks. The doctrines they teach have real consequences. Spiritual Malpractice: Canon Mark Pearson, author of Christian Healing, put it this way, To keep the ministry of healing from Gods people because it happens not to interest Church leaders of a given congregation is as much spiritual malpractice as it would be medical malpractice for a hospital to refuse to treat heart attacks because the staff preferred only to treat pneumonia. Spiritual malpractice is a serious charge, because those who teach will be judged more strictly (James 3:1). More importantly, think of the millions of people who may have gone to an early grave, all because they believed God no longer heals. The Church today is but a shadow of the godly influence it once enjoyed, due largely to the unclean spirit that whispered in the ear of man that God is out of the healing business. It is a lie from the father of lies. Creating Confusion:: Many Church leaders today teach that healing must be instantaneous, something that is immediate to be called a miracle. But Gods Word does not limit spiritual healing to the instantaneous. The word miracle simply means of divine or supernatural intervention. All healing is divine and miraculous by its nature (Exodus 15:26). The view held that spiritual healing must be instantaneous to be a miracle has led many Christians to abandon their faith in God to heal altogether. They reason: Almost no one is instantly healed of chronic illness; therefore, whatever healing may occur must happen through physical means beyond the direct intervention of God. Can you see the fallacy here? Without the direct intervention of God, could there be healing of any kind? Gods Holy Word tells us that God is Yehovah-rapha, God our healer. But just for a moment, imagine that God has turned His back on healing the sick. You fall sick with illness. The doctors tell you there is nothing more they can do. You are not expected to survive. What a bleak picture! Not because the doctors tell you that they cant help you, but because God is out of the picture. Friend, this is what happens many times a day in churches all across the land: Churches turn the sick in the body of Christ out to the world. God has not abandoned His children as their healer; Churches have abandoned God as our healer! When the teachers of the law wanted to know by what power or name the Apostle, Peter, administered spiritual healing to a crippled man, Peter replied It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed...Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. - Acts 4:10-12 (NIV) Notice that Peter made no distinction between the mans healing and salvation, because both are found in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (the Gospel). Although the men Peter addressed did not want to believe him, they nevertheless understood his statement. Why cant we? Peter said this man was healed, not because he (Peter) is an Apostle, one of a select group of men, but because of the healing power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What a statement! This is the crux of the cross, the absolute beginning and end for all healing, be it physical or spiritual. Nothing has happened to change this truth since Peter spoke those words 2,000 years ago. For just as God intends freedom from oppression for all mankind, so too is Gods intention for spiritual healing through Jesus Christ our Lord. Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) Information
By Margaret Wommack Abdominoplasty, commonly known as a tummy tuck, is a major surgical procedure for men and women generally in good shape and health but who have large fat deposits around their abdomen or have and excess of loose skin. Abdominoplasty can reduce protruding abdominal fat but it does leave a lengthy, permanent, sometimes visible scar that runs the length of the hipbones. Also during abdominoplasty, the vertical muscles of the abdomen are tightened. Often, people who have abdominoplasty surgery are women who dont intend to bear more children and whose previous pregnancies stretched their abdominal muscles or people suffering from obesity whose skin elasticity has diminished. During the procedure patients are either given a sedative and local anesthesia or general anesthesia. An incision is made between the hipbones and around the belly button. Then the skin is separated from the abdominal wall and lifted over the vertical abdominal muscles. These muscles are then sewn together to tighten them. Next the skin is stretched down and flattened and the remaining skin left over the incision is cut away and the skin flap is sewn into its new place. After surgery, supportive garments should be worn and after three weeks all sutures will have been removed. Post-operative exercise is encouraged to tone the muscles and healthy lifestyle and diet is encouraged to maintain the results. While abdominoplasty leaves a significant scar, it doesnt show under most clothes and under some swim suits and most people are happy with the procedure because they look better, feel healthier, and are in less pain. Another Birthday-EEK!
By Carine Nadel I Can't Believe It!
I am 49. I simply cannot believe I am that number. My goodness, first I find out I'm going to be a grandmother and then in the same year, I turn 49. EEK! Okay, truth be told, I'm not really freaking out-after all, my darling handsome spouse is going to be a grandfather and he's turning the big 5-0 right after the first of the year. He's being pretty cool about it as well. I think it's because his latest stint as Mr. Mom/breadwinner (I broke my foot almost 3 months ago) has left him so exhausted he hasn't had time to really acknowledge that he's about to hit the half-century mark. What is it about birthdays that make us sometimes wax nostalgic? One of our bridesmaids, a wonderful lady that I danced through many a class and show with during our college years, and I (of course my hubby will be in attendance) are finally getting together for the first time since our wedding. I mention this in context with the first sentence of this paragraph mainly due to the fact that at this moment I can only imagine how much we will be able to catch up on during maybe a two hour dinner! Let's face it, if I consider a yearly event such as a birthday a time to reminisce imagine what not seeing a chum from pre-married woman days can evoke? I'm sure our time as sassy college students at Cal State Fullerton will be discussed. My husband didn't really know my bridesmaids very well, so I'm sure he'll listen to some of these stories with pricked up ears. Although I've talked about my years as a dancer, my husband has only actually seen me on a stage once and that was 18 years ago. So he'll probably hear some things about me he never imagined. Or maybe he has.... Another friend, whom I've known since age 5 1/2, was explaining to me that she feels more secure and in tune with herself and is actually looking forward to turning 50 next May. Of course, she's also a newlywed (hey, 3 years is pretty new) and recently changed her profession which entailed her starting her own business, so she has a lot to work on and anticipate. I can relate to the more secure feeling. Since I have been seriously trying to rejuvenate my writing career (as I told my mother-in-law a 26 year break is more than long enough) I also find myself not sweating the "small" stuff as much. I'm feeling much more like myself. I've sold several articles, had several turned down and had several responses that left me scratching my head-but the main thing here is that I am writing again. Years ago, the six pounds I put on a year ago, would have sent me into a tailspin. Now, (especially after 3 months in a cast/boot and no exercise) I figure I'm doing all I am supposed to do to be healthy, so what's six pounds? I'm not happy about them, but I still feel as if I "clean up" rather nicely. The gray hair amidst the brunette ones are increasing, but instead of running for the bottle of dye every couple of months-I've decided I have so earned them! Yes, I will probably still color my hair, but because I want to give myself an emotional boost, not a physical one (re-read from the archives "A New Coat of Paint"). My laugh lines are there for the same reason, I've had a lot of wonderful events and some valleys to pull myself out of, and again, I've earned every single one of those beautiful creases. Along with this sense of self has come with a new found amount of strength to say "No, I can't do this". Something in my younger years I wouldn't have had the nerve to do. I wanted to be "the good one". My experiences have taught me well. Being "the good one" takes it toll. Doing the right thing is much more pleasing. Becoming a different age is like starting a new novel. With a book you open it up, hopefully get hooked on the first page and continue with enthusiasm until the very last word. With any luck you then realize it was so entertaining that whatever ills and problems that went on around you weren't enough to take away the excitement of the time spent reading. When you have finished with it, you get a brand new book and hope that it surpasses the last one in what you experienced. That it takes you to an entirely new level of realization that you did not think was possible. A birthday should be just the same. It should be the start of a new plot line. With any luck, the characters will be the same, but what happens to them and who joins in to make it more interesting will be full of surprises. Composting and Composters: A Basic Introduction
By Mark Falco Why Compost? Recent studies show that an average family throws away approximately 200 pounds of organic kitchen waste every year. Combine this with all the leaves, grass clippings and other organic garden waste accumulated over time and that's a lot of household waste being added to the already mountainous waste disposal problem. Some local authorities are refusing to take away green waste from gardening and others charge for the service in an effort to curb mounting costs and then when you add in the environmental costs of adding new landfill sites, road transport emissions from ferrying all this waste around and potentially incineration and the fumes that releases the environmental advantages of composting are clear. In slightly more selfish terms, if you are a gardener then you will know the relatively high cost of fertiliser. Well, OK an average gardener's yearly fertiliser expenditure is not going to break the bank but when you can get fertiliser for free out of the stuff you throw away then it starts looking extremely expensive. Composting simply makes good environmental and financial sense and it's so easy to do there's nothing stopping you. What Do I Need To Begin? A compost bin, box, enclosure or handy place to put an open compost heap. Cheap plastic composters and compost bins can be bought from all good garden centers and are quite inexpensive depending on your requirements. A plastic compost bin is generally the cheapest whilst wood composters are generally more attractive additions to your garden but a little more costly. An open heap (just create a pile somewhere) is also an option but it is advisable to have some sort of cover like a tarpaulin available for colder periods of weather. Another slightly different alternative to composting in the traditional sense is vermicomposting or wormeries. These use a special kind of worms to break down kitchen scraps producing a fine compost-like material fromtheir casts and a nutrient filled liquid plant food which is ideal for feeding indoor pot plants. If do a lot of greenhouse gardening or have a lot of houseplants then a wormery may be the best choice for the disposal of household waste. If you do not want to actually spend money on a composter then building your own isn't exactly difficult if you do not mind picking up a hammer and nails. Nail together a few wooden pallets for example and you've got an enclosure suitable for composting. For plans and ideas on how to assemble your own composter at little cost, simply head to your favourite search engine and type in phrases like "build your own composter" or "compost bin plans" for an endless supply of simple ideas typically costing under $30. Where To Put Your Compost Whether you purchase a composting bin or make your own composter you need to make sure you have a flat, well drained place in your garden not too far away that you begrudge taking your kitchen scraps out to it. Compost bins should not be placed on concrete, patio areas etc. as you want to allow the insects, worms and microorganisms which help degradation of your waste materials the freedom to migrate into and out of your compost without hinderance. In addition, choose a site which suits your climate. Warmth and moisture helps the composting process so place your composter in a place which receives a fair amount of sunlight and shelter from the wind if you live in a cooler climate and if in a hotter climate, ensure you give it shade to prevent it drying out. What Materials Can You Compost? Pretty much all your organic household and garden waste is an elligible candidate for composting although there are a few exceptions. Things to particularly avoid are meat, fish, bones, fats and oils, dairy products like milk and cheese, dog and cat droppings as these can attract animals, create foul smells as they degrade and carry nasty diseases. Also, whilst weeds and plants can be added, it is advised to dry out persisent weeds and remove seed heads before adding these. Ashes are also best avoided, as are glossy magazines although shredded paper and cardboard are fine to add. Feel free to add waste fruit and vegetables, crushed egg shells, coffee grounds (worms love them!) and tea bags, hair, leaves, grass clippings and other organic waste. As a general rule, if in doubt, leave it out but most organic waste will rot down just fine and if you shred it or cut it up smaller, it will compost faster. How Long Before It Becomes Compost? This depends on the balance of materials in your compost heap, the weather and the amount of time you can devote to the project. If you want to take an active managed approach to your composting then you can have afully composted pile in 3 months but if your only desire is to dispose of kitchen and garden waste in a more 'green' manner then it can take 6 months to a year or longer. Managed composting can produce a 'hot rot' with very fast results but it does require additional effort on your behalf to keep it going. A managed, hot compost heap with an excellent balance of materials can reach temperatures of 70 degree celsius but requires regular turning and nurturing with careful layering and balance of browns and greens in the mix, shredding materials and maintaining a good moisture level. An unmanaged cool heap is however much easier to maintain and rots down at up to 30 degrees celsius with little input from you. Just throwing your waste on the heap will give you a cooler heap which will rot down more slowly but is fine for green waste disposal purposes. There are ways to increase the rate of the composting process in both cases by, for example, adding composting worms, or by using an activator which help speed up the process. The addition of a handful or soil now and then or horse manure will also add micro-organisms to speed up the composting process free of charge. For The Best Compost... ...use a wide variety of different materials. The more varied the materials you add to the compost pile, the nutrient rich your final compost will be. Compost made from kitchen and garden waste is the best food for your plants and at the same time you are helping the environment and saving yourself and your local government money into the bargain. Fashion Wigs - Change Your Image in Seconds!
By Tanya Turner Do you want to be a blonde one day and a redhead the next? One way to do this is to dye your own hair and restyle it, but you can achieve the same effect with much less effort - just buy a wig. To select a wig that would be indistinguishable from real human hair and become your favorite fashion accessory, though, you need to know a few insider tips. First of all, if youre worried that a wig will not look natural on your head, never fear! A properly made wig - even the quality synthetic varieties - can look totally realistic. Which is best - synthetic or human hair wigs? Wigs can be synthetic or made from real human hair. Synthetic wigs are cheaper, but the very cheap ones you can find online dont look real enough. On the other hand, high quality synthetic wigs like Revlon, Raquel Welch or Paula Young wigs look very real. Also, synthetic wigs are easier to care for, as you dont need to restyle them every time you wash them. Real human hair is in limited supply, so human hair wigs are much more expensive; typically they several hundred dollars. Human hair wigs look and feel very natural. However, it is important to know that the quality of your wig depends on the origin of the hair used. The cheapest hair comes from Asian countries, but their texture is different from the hair of European women. The best human hair wigs are made from European hair but, unfortunately, they cost a small fortune. What wigs styles are available? You can get wigs as well as full wigs. A full wig covers your entire head, so none of your own hair is visible. This type of wig is great when you want to try a color different from your own. A wig is clipped to the top of your head. Because your original hairline is visible, the wig looks very natural. Also, your head doesnt get toasted under a wig cap. On the downside, though, three quarter wigs have to match your hair color very closely, otherwise it wont look convincing. It is best not to buy this type of wig online because the colors on the color charts are usually not very accurate. A very interesting style of wig is the headband wig. A headband wig is a full wig with a headband attached to its front. It is especially useful if you are always in a hurry, because the headband ensures that none of your own hair is visible. This style is recommended if your natural hair is a dramatically different color from the wig. Wigs come in all shapes and styles - from very short to 30 inches long, in straight, curly, wavy, braided, layered, spiky or the wet look. It is important that you look at many styles before you decide which one your heart desires. It is a good idea to have your wigs customized, too. If you can find a hair salon that can trim your wig to make it fit your face shape, go for it. Customizing a wig isnt cheap, of course, but it will make your new wig look more realistic and suitable for your face. If you feel like a change, get yourself a wig. It is amazing, how much having a different hairstyle can transform a person. And for a woman it is always important to vary her image and look fresh. It's Time To Serve Up Real Marketing Help
By Jay Siff As a restaurant industry veteran, Ive attended and/or exhibited at industry trade shows for many years. Nearly every time I go, Im surprised at the peculiar lineup of seminars being offered. Food safety, new credit card options, employee benefits, uniform rentalsnearly every subject of interest to restaurant owners and operators is covered. Every one, that is, except marketing. Why is marketing acumen taken for granted in the restaurant business? Perhaps its the divide that exists between major operators and small independents. Chains and high-volume independents have the staff and the resources to develop sophisticated marketing programs that attract and retain customers as well as promote new products. Their need to acquire new skills is relatively small. Small independents, on the other handthe largest segment of the restaurant industry, by the wayare in critical need of help. As I meet small operators one-on-one at these shows, the question I hear most often is, How can I get more customers? Its a question that deserves to be answered. Marketing, in its simplest expression, is the process of creating and maintaining a relationship between a merchant and his or her customer. The science of marketing as practiced by the big guys, however, involves disciplines that are way beyond most local eateries. In order for smaller restaurants to succeed, they need tools that are appropriate for their size and capability. Sadly, they get precious little support from the industry in acquiring or leveraging those tools. The fact is, a wealth of local store marketing tactics exists for the local operator that is both practical and highly effective. Menu spin-offs, tableside selling, strategic couponing, email, and targeted direct mail are just a few examples of activities that can pay off in a big way. Powerful solutions are available for regaining lost customers, generating referrals and word-of mouth, increasing bar sales, attracting new residents, and converting phone inquiries. Special event sponsorships, public relations, sales promotion, one-on-one marketingthe instruments available are endless. Are they properly communicated? Hardly. Many local restaurants labor under the assumption that theyre at a disadvantage compared to deep-pocket franchise or chain operations. Actually nothing could be further from the truth. Small restaurants typically have a better knowledge of the community, can execute programs faster, and are more willing to take risks. All they need is someone to show them the ropes. Nor do most marketing ideas take months of practice or advanced business knowledge. Many of the best local store marketing ideas can be implemented quickly and with minimal effort, yet generate benefits that chains simply cant duplicate. So how can marketing knowledge be better imparted to small independents? National trade shows are probably the first and most appropriate place. By the looks of most seminar rosters, marketing is an afterthought. It needs to be front and center, right along with other critical business topics. National restaurant conventions could take a cue from the pizza industry. At this winters International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas, the lineup of marketing seminars included presentations on 10 Ways to Increase Your Business in 20 Days, Pricing Secrets of Restaurant Owners Who Get Rich, and The Fun-Damentals of Four Walls Marketing, among others. Attendees reported that rooms were packed, with people literally sitting in the aisles to hear the various tips and ideas. Other informational venues are also underutilized, such as state association gatherings. Theres no shortage of qualified and dynamic marketing experts who, if sponsored by trade groups or vendors, would be willing to give talks. More trade magazine articles on the subject would help as well. The Internet is one more place where trade groups and associations can offer marketing advice. At the National Restaurant Association website, www.restaurant.org, articles, books, and networking opportunities are currently available. Not many, howeverand unfortunately theyre not emphasized. Perhaps if NRA members, particularly small independents, strongly voiced their desire for more street-smart marketing information and training, a broader range of materials would surface. For independents seeking immediate help, a number of marketing specialists have created excellent books and websites that shouldnt be missed. Among the ones I recommend are Joel Cohens RestaurantMarketing.com (www.restaurantmarketing.com); Cohens book The Last Restaurant Sales-Building Manual You Will Ever Need! is an invaluable marketing resource. Another expert is Rory Fatt (www.roryfatt.com), whose website includes a free restaurant marketing report as well as other powerful publications. If the restaurant industry is really serious about helping its practitioners succeed, it will finally address the need among independent owners and operators for practical and cost-effective marketing help. After all, most restauranteurs are chefs first and salespeople second. Its about time we help them market their food as well as they prepare it. A Personal Loan Can Make Your Dreams Come True
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Pranav_Das]Pranav Das The greatest irony of human beings is that they are never satisfied with their lives. Once we used to be food gatherers and hunters. Later we learnt to cultivate crops and cook food. Development took its own course and now we are in the ultra modern world. Today, technology has become a part and parcel of our lives. In every sphere of life we have to deal with technological equipments. And why should we not use them, after all they make our lives easy and comfortable. Today, we have luxurious cars, air conditioners, television sets, 3G mobile phones and a lot of other things at our disposal. But, most often we fall short of money to buy such items. Availing personal loans is an easy option in such cases. personal loans are a loan that is specially designed to meet your personal needs. And personal needs may vary from one person to another. One can use a personal loan to buy a new car. One can use it to finance ones holiday tour. One can utilise the money to fund ones higher education. One can use it for home renovation or buying expensive household items. So, there is no end to the uses of personal loans. You can use it for as many purposes you can think of. There are two kinds of [http://www.chance4finance.co.uk/personal-loans.html]personal loans available in the market. One is called a secured personal loan whereas the other is called an unsecured personal loan. A secured personal loan, as the name suggests is secured for the lender. It is given against collateral that is usually your house. So the lender is at low risk. In a secured personal loan the rates of interest are low. Also, the monthly installments are small and the repayment period can be long and flexible according to your suitability. On the other side an unsecured personal loan is charged with a bit higher rate of interest. As the creditor grants such loans without any collateral he is at high risk. Also, an unsecured personal loan has bigger monthly installments and shorter repayment period. Since the lenders are secured in allotting a secured personal loan they do not hesitate to grant huge amount of money, whereas its difficult for the borrowers to take large amount of money in an unsecured personal loan. Secured personal loans involve valuation of your house and much paper work so they take much of your time. But unsecured personal loans are approved very fast as they are free from the annoying work of valuation of property and paper work as such. Quick Guide to Wedding Catering: Part One
By Amy Spade After watching the happy couple exchange vows and begin their married life together, your guests will be hungry. Many of the guests may have scaled back on eating in order to look good for pictures or just because they were so busy during the day. So feed them right. Different needs When youre putting together such a large assortment of people, there are bound to be those that have certain ways or preferences of eating. You may find that there are vegetarians or those that can not eat dairy. You might have a diabetic in the crowd or some other health restriction. Do you have to make arrangements for everyone? You should certainly try to have options for any sort of eating arrangement. In the case of those that dont eat meat, you might want to have a cheese lasagne available or other pasta dish. This is becoming widely popular to have two options anyways, so why not offer them? Another way to cope with varied needs is to serve dinner in a buffet style. This allows each person to pick only what they want or what they can eat. How to find good food A lot of wedding caterers rely on word of mouth (no pun intended) to get their services recognized. If you can, talk to other people that have gotten married in your town to see who they recommend. Of course, you will still want to see them for yourself, but this list can be a great starting point. Another way to find good catering is to talk to the reception hall coordinators. Many times they will either require the use of a particular caterer or they have a list of those that they recommend. Of course, you will want to schedule an appointment with all of the catering candidates in order to do a taste test of their menu options. At that point, you can pick what you think your guests will enjoy. A good meal is a great way to send your thanks to your guests for coming to your wedding. This is the part that shouldnt be skimped on for any reason. Of course, that doesnt mean that you cant find moderately priced options. Try your favourite restaurant, for example. If theyre able to cater, then you may be able to get a better deal because youre buying food in bulk. Having a friend who is a cook is even betterso long as they dont mind working through the wedding. Amy Spade is an expert on planning weddings, and she has written an amazing totally free minicourse on how to make sure that you have the day of your dreams and avoid wedding day disaster!

Create A Beautifull Wedding Album With A Simple And Fun Way
By John Franco Hi If you are getting married or have a Bar Bat Mitzvah or special event then you should read this article. Many times people who have an important event hire a photographer, videographer wedding consultants, and or coordinators, florists, lino service, ect. This can be a difficult task or a fun one. I can provide some good sence in the photography field and this will also apply to video. The one and most important part of your event when being in front of the camera is to remember to always keep smiling and let everybody know to smile and cooperate with your vendors. The more smilly faces the nicer the pictures and the more fun you will have. When you are infront of the camera have fun make the pictures interesting you are the leading lady and when you are having fun so will everyone else. Your pictures will look best by keeping the colors you choose to enhance your wedding gown remember to think contrast and depth. You are the most important part of any picture. When choosing colors try not to include to much white because your gown is going to absorb most whites. Black and White pictures will look better with reds, greens, and yellows when next to a white wedding gown.
Have the colors you choose enhance your wedding gown. Before your event, or wedding day sit back and relax take it easy get a good night sleep and think happy thoughts. On your wedding day take the day as it happens you cant change anything by worring about it. Let your friends and family worry about things to worry about. Keep a positive approach to the whole day and you will see upon receiving your wedding proofs you will have great pictures and all you have to do is relax, be happy, and most-important smile. Growing Up On A Delaware Farm
By Mr Jody Hudson Growing up on a Delaware farm was a wonderful and rewarding experience for me. I grew up in an area where a couple of dozen families in an area of about hundred square miles had farmed, married each other and been a stable community for centuries, along Delaware Rout One just north of Lewes. In my early youth, I grew up on a farm where we had 33 cows, 18 we milked twice a day, 3 horses, some chickens, 60 acres of corn, hay and pasture. It was a farm that my maternal grandparents owned. There were barns, tractors, long hours and Sundays in church. We grew corn, hay and pasture. We had a large garden and some fruit trees. We hunted, foraged, and grew what we ate and used in most cases. We ate duck, goose, pigeon, muskrat, fish, crabs, shell fish, groundhog, mustard greens, collards, wild garlic, onion, persimmons, wild cherry, wild strawberries, blueberries, figs, mint, wild carrots, herbs and wild spices. We had plenty of beef, chicken, milk, cream and our own homemade butter, as well as at least two kinds of handmade soap. We cooked on a woodstove which also heated the house. I slept under quilts and on feather beds that were over a hundred years old. We had a little coal furnace but coal was expensive and that was only for the coldest times. We had electric and a phone too. We shucked and shelled corn, some of which we traded to neighbors for pork, veal or turkey. I lived on my grandparents farm and my great grandmother lived with us as well. My grandmother and great grandmother were both school teachers by profession. I was doted upon, taught and encouraged to read several hours a day. The home was filled with old books and I was the only student they had at home. In the attic were books handed down through the family from the 1500s and since. We lived on land, some pieces of which had been in our family ownership for hundreds of years and is now divided down from thousands of acres to small pieces. We lived much the same as people lived on farms in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Yet, we had phone and TV, neither of which was used much. My grandfather taught me much; to milk cows by hand and by machine and much more. I shoveled tons of sloppy manure, fed the cows and horses and learned to carpenter, make tools, and to keep things repaired. I learned to make do and keep it going. I learned to mend harness, to render pine resin from the sap of local trees and mix it with bees wax to treat the home-made linen thread that was used to mend harness. I learned to do minor animal surgery such as castration, dehorning and at least once I helped pull an infected tooth in a cow. I learned to make my own knife at age 4. By 5 I was driving the old Ford some. At 6, I was able to drive the tractors and the truck. By 7 I could work a full day in the field by myself driving the largest tractor Dad had. Dad bought the adjacent farm when I was five and later bought several other adjacent or nearby farms and timber land as it came available. He eventually owned and rented over 3,000 acres by the time I left the farm. We lived well from Dads industrious work and his advanced techniques. My grandparents were not very modernized. Dad was not a usual person for his time either. He was 20 to 50 years ahead of his time in farming. I helped out on Dads farms once I started school. By eleven I worked at least 20 hours a week during the school year, often 40. By age 12 my summer weeks were typically 60 hours or more and sometimes over 100 hours. I tried to go for 120 to 130 hours a week for the added money. Many nights I slept in the dirt, in the field, to eliminate going home to sleep so I could make more money. I learned to go to sleep in a matter of seconds and to be up, dressed and working in less than four minutes when I slept at home. Summertime, when there was no school, and being paid for the long hours I worked -- I made considerable income even at the low hourly wage. I saved most of it. I didnt have much time or opportunity to spend it. As a teenager, I made more, many months than some grown men of our area and I had few expenses. We didnt work all the time but we enjoyed work. I dont recall anyone that didnt like working. I arranged to do the hardest and least popular jobs, mostly hauling hay and irrigation. Doing the hardest jobs gave me job security. We got Sundays off to go to the little country church that our family founded and built on the farm. We worked hard and loved the work and the life it earned us! Dad, ahead of his time, had irrigation, high density crops, no-till farming, airplanes to spray the crops, and used every modern or experimental tool and technique available or being tested. As a youngster, I was accustomed to Dad being in or on the cover of some magazine nearly every month it seemed. Some of the things he helped pioneer 30-40 years ago are becoming customary and ordinary now, some will be more common later. Dad grew his farm from nothing and by the time I was a teen he was farming over 3,000 acres, seeking to profit from the economies of scale and mechanization. Smaller farmers were often making far less than minimum wage by the 70s. He rented thousands of acres of farm land but owned many hundreds of acres of tillable land as well. Sure I miss the rural farming that I grew up in. We decided, several years too late, to sell most of our farm land into development when the government decided to make pawns of farmers, farms and farm products. First went the domestic farm commodities market with one crop after another and then in the international market with the corn, wheat, soybean debacles with Russia and China where our government contracted to feed the USSR and China for decades with our farm products. This contractual agreement multiplied the need and value of American farm products. The smell of diesel fuel may be the smell of life in some cases. I dont like the smell of it either and starting at 7 years old I pumped a lot of it into our tractors and burned it long hours as I drove those tractors. Its probably some sort of illegal activity to let kids work on the farm today. There was a lot more diesel in the air before the developments were here. The tractors are gone now for the most part. And they seldom wake up the late rising city folks anymore. Our democratic interests dont allow any manufacturing down here in Sussex so we have no high income support base. The highest income employment we have is banking and outlet manager jobs. Other than that we have self employment, waiting on tables, minimum wage and production based income and its not usually farming. We have a few, very few people who have been able to stay here and serve non-farm interests. Few remain who still farm and those few have either other income, extreme government subsidy with our tax dollars of some sort or will be gone soon. Benefits Of Alfalfa Plant Juice
By Kevin Pederson Alfalfa plant or Alfalfa sprout juice Alfalfa plant, which is also known as lucerne or bum clover, is usually known to fatten cattle, and the juice has long been employed to put weight on people. Combined with carrot and lettuce, alfalfa juice is reputed to aid the growth of hair. Like comfrey the alfalfa plant has exceptionally long roots, sometimes over 120 ft (37m). These enable the plant to be an efficient concentrator of trace elements. Alfalfa plant is a very concentrated source of vitamin A, which is not lost when the plant is dried and sold in tablet form, and of vitamin C. Not all of us live near a source of alfalfa, but it is as easy to sprout, to mustard and cress, and the resulting sprouts are not only of a high nutritional order but are also exceptional providers of a wide spectrum I minerals. The high vitamin K content is important as a blood clotting factor and has been found in animal studies to control high blood-pressure, although the importance of this to man is not yet established. Alfalfa juice is normally taken in combination with carrot because it is very strong alone and the two complement each other well. It must be said that it is not very tasty on its own so its use as pan of a juice combination is the more acceptable way of using alfalfa as pan of a healthy diet. Kevin Pederson has been managing a number of natural home remedies websites which have information on home based natural cures and remedies for some of the most common illnesses and some tips on raw juice therapy. Laser Skin Enhancements
By Ricardo Silva Ah, the joys of modern technology. Plastic surgery benefits from our advances in technology just like any other industry or medical field. This brings us to the subject of laser skin enhancements. If you think you might be in need of a procedure to rejuvenate your face and restore your youthful appearance, you might be considering facial plastic surgery. However, for some individuals, surgical intervention is not the proper choice due to medical conditions or the particulars of your situation. In such cases, laser skin enhancements offers corrective solutions not previously available. A laser skin enhancement is performed by plastic surgeons using advanced laser technology. The laser is strong enough to burn the first layer of dead tissue and a few living cells on the surface of the skin, but does not affect the other layers of skin tissue. The laser also reaches down to the underlying collagen. Instead of removing the collagen, the heat results in a reduction of the collagen. This reduction results in the tightening up of the collagen and skin giving the patient a less wrinkled look. In practical terms, laser skin enhancements give you a bit of a lift and peel at the same time. A laser enhancement is not the best procedure for all facial concerns. It does not work well on areas such as deep creases in the neck and cheek, creases around the lips and the upper eyelids. For smaller, fine lines and light wrinkles, however, it can be a less invasive choice than surgery. There are many advantages to choosing the laser procedure. There is less recovery time, general anesthesia is generally not necessary, and there is very little blood loss. There are also normally no scars following the procedure. There are some potential side effects to having laser enhancements as there are with any cosmetic surgery. The recovery takes about ten days during which you can have very sensitive skin with some weeping. During this period, you will see a progression of skin color from red to pink to normal. There can also be a permanent lightening of the area treated, which can be a problem for some dark skin individuals. It is also not recommended for people looking to remove large quantities of skin or who have severe facial damage due to sun or age. If you are such a patient, laser enhancements can help but will not be a total solution. Laser skin enhancements are a popular alternative to traditional facial surgeries. Make sure to speak with your doctor to find out your options and whether this surgery is appropriate for you. Ricardo de Silva is with PlasticSurgeonPractices.com - a directory of plastic surgeons. By K Smith Marketing, advertising, and branding are closely related and are a key to successful business. Promotional products are wise, effective, and powerful tools for promoting a business and making it successful. They go much beyond sales promotion and help business organizations to establish a strong image and create goodwill. They are a cost effective way to market a business and to create awareness about its products or services. Logo and tagline helps in branding and play a key role in a companys success.
